Remote Sensing of Desert Landforms
using the MTI
Principals - Alan Gillespie,
Amit
Mushkin,
- Extracting surface-temperatures and emissivities in the
thermal (8-12 mm) and mid-infrared (3-5 mm) wavelengths using data from
the spaceborne Multispectral Thermal Imager (MTI). This study is funded
by the Department of Energy through the Los Alamos National Lab.
- Characterizing surface properties such as lithological
composition and roughness of geomorphic surfaces, using remotely sensed
data in the visible – shortwave infrared wavelengths (0.4-2.5 mm).
- Non-linear spectral effects in the Thermal infrared to
discriminate desert landforms.
